Neither Left-Behind Nor Superstar: Why Voters Aren't Seeing Themselves Represented More Online?

This paper examines how digitalization impacts political representation. Drawing on survey data from the European Social Survey, it explores voting behavior changes amid online platforms. The findings reveal ordinary citizens experiencing mixed electoral outcomes - neither significantly disadvantaged nor dramatically empowered by new technologies. Using logistic regression analysis to track election results across countries over time shows nuanced effects beyond simple left-behind or superstar narratives.
