Dystopian Fiction Fans Might Actually Welcome Violence—Even More Than You Think

Worrying that political science ignores fiction is common, but we argue it's time for a genre-based approach. Focusing on popular dystopian narratives, results from three experiments show something surprising: they increase support for radical and violent political action.
