What is the weak mayor-council type of municipal government?
Georgia has 535 incorporated municipalities and they have different forms of government. In mayor-council forms of government, the mayor performs executive functions and an elected council, policy-making functions. In weak mayor-council governments, the mayor's job is largely ceremonial. Responsibility for hiring and firing employees is either shared with or delegated exclusively to the city council.
